Hi, i am a gay junior from the NY/NJ area who is heavily interested attending texas a&m. I reflection of it as a perfect university but then someone told me its the most conservative school in the country!!! so what I am asking is if any students can narrate me whether or not i would enjoy going to college at A&M, or if i would be ridiculed and become an outsider. Also are ht students at a&m accepting of like out of staters? thanks in advance!!

@NYguy09. I suggested in your other thread that you look at some threads from last year that directly address your questions. Here’s one. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/texas-m-university/1618136-will-a-california-student-like-a-m-p1.html

Now I’m a 66-old parent and I found both these links in a minute. I think you will not find it a problem to be a a gay man from NY/NJ. I don’t think you will do well at A&M or any college if you expect others to do your labor for you.

Ah so you endorse this homoerotic aggy and got his back?

June is Pride Month, and according to Frances Jackson (they/them/theirs), coordinator at the Texas A&M University Homosexual Pride Center, the occasion is an opportunity to reflect on the history of the gay rights movement and to commemorate the mosaic of cultures at the university and beyond.
“This month represents not only a way to learn about the history of LGBTQ+ people and where we have been, but also where we’re going and the operate that still needs to be done,” Jackson said. “And it’s a celebration. So many people stay with invisible identities. It’s a way of displaying that there are other people like you, so let’s come together and celebrate what a gorgeous diaspora of culture that’s here.”
The university’s Pride Center, which is housed within the Offices of the Dean of Student Experience within the Division of Student Affairs, has announced a variety of events throughout the month, including Pride Live, a panel discussion series that is broadcast on Facebook Dwell. The next edition in the series is “The Relationship Spectrum,” June 15 from 6-7 p.m. featuring representatives from the Texas A&M Office of
Can a gay student be safe at A&M?

The university is very appealing. Good university overall, not too bad a drive to Houston, or Austin, safe environment, and a superb social life, but there is just one problem. I’m lgbtq+. I’ve heard horror storries about anti-gay ativities towards students at the school, but most of them seem to be mature . It looks like the university is really trying to steer away from the conservative stereotype most of the nation has given it. My question is, do you think it’s secure for an openly gay male to be a student at A&M? It’s not like i’m wearing a rainbow flag on my back and yelling queer pride at the top of my lungs, but it’s not like I’m going to obscure my sexuality to please others. I am who I am, and won’t change. There are a couple of “gay” places in Bryan, and I will probably be living in my own apartment, so I can steer away from any anti-gay people I may be placed with at the dorms. What do you think? I just don’t want to end up at a school where I have no friends, and notice like I can’t be myself. College holds some of the best years of our lives, and I wouldn’t want it to turn into a nightmare.
