30 for 30: "I Hate Christian Laettner"
Mike Corey said:
I really did not think this was the strongest ESPN documentary, but for the high school footage, and some other primary provider material...and Brian Davis.
The amount of (unnecessary) pop tradition, and many of the choices for interviewees--from journalists to essentially random people that loathe Laettner--was distracting and lacked insight.Click to expand...
I agree with this take with the qualifier that we are going to be a tough crowd because we know this material so well.
As far as stuff I had never seen before, i reflection the segment about how his older brother, Chris, helped forge him into a tough SOB was really interesting. I also liked the high school brawl footage. Seeing Mickie K receive choked up talking about him was also good.

In the past year, when his image has grown to proportions that exceed even his basketball talent, Laettner has heard more than just the whispers.

Finally, he said, it wasn't playfulness anymore. ``I don't think it's a big deal. When I first heard it, I couldn't believe it. I was amused for a while. It's annoying now, because it's been written about and spoken so much about.'
It was spoken about during the 1991 ACC tournament finals, when North Carolina's King Rice screamed several times,
